Hello, Bobcats!

Congratulations to Madhupriya Metukuru who has been selected as a 2022 District Sunshine State Scholar!

Palm Beach County School District has partnered with Paper to provide unlimited, 24/7 high-impact tutoring to all 6-12th graders—at no cost to students. With writing feedback, study support, and homework help in four languages across 200+ subject areas, students always have access to help when, where, and how they need it. They simply login to their Paper account where they can request live help in real time or submit a piece of writing for review! If you would like to learn more about Paper you can sign up for a Paper hosted Parent Info Session, available in both English and Spanish. If you would like to speak to a member of the Paper team directly, you can reach them at [email protected].

One of our outstanding students, Summer Pilot, decided to give Paper a try and this is what she said: “I decided to try Paper for the first time a couple of days ago. I was easily able to find the Paper icon in my portal and select my Bio class to request help with my homework. The tutor replied very quickly and was very supportive and encouraging. She stuck with me for almost two hours until I didn’t have any more questions. I will definitely be using this platform very often!”

Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, the District has reinstated a facial covering requirement for all employees, vendors, and visitors while indoors effective January 4. The District strongly encourages students to wear facial coverings when indoors, though this decision rests with parents or guardians. For those parents who choose to have their student wear a mask, please send them with a mask.  We do have a few masks available, but are quickly running out.

Final determinations and calculations for 2022 Valedictorian, Salutatorian, top ten, and subsequent class rankings will be based ONLY upon courses that have been completed and have posted final grades by February 4, 2022. This includes all virtual and dual enrollment courses, as well. Course work and/or grades completed and/or posted after February 4, 2022, will NOT be factored into final ranking calculations and determinations. Additionally, the class ranks listed on SIS February 4, 2022, may or may not reflect final ranking calculations, as at that time, many of those course updates will not yet have factored into the calculations.  Finally, as outlined in the School District of Palm Beach County’s Student Progression Plan, “To be eligible for valedictorian or salutatorian recognition, a student must have attended the same SDPBC public school for three complete years, two of which must be the junior and senior years.”

Graduation will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 6PM at the South Florida Fairgrounds.

Graduation ceremonies are scheduled to take place, in-person, on the dates and times listed.  However, please be advised that due to unforeseen health conditions, the District reserves the right to amend the format of these ceremonies.

Our next School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting is tomorrow, January 10, 2022, at 6:30 in the theater.

Stay well, Bobcats!
