Bobcat Academic Team

We do academic competitions - mainly Academic Games (3 seasons August - January), School Duel (February or March), and the Commissioner's Academic Challenge (Also February).

Meeting Time/Location: Tuesdays at Santaluces HS from 4 - 5:30 pm from August to January. Students are released from 7th period at 3 pm. When no competition is scheduled for that week, we meet/practice in Room 8-212 from 3:30 - 4:15 pm.

Bobcat Dance Alliance

The purpose of Bobcat Dance Alliance is to promote dance at BRCHS and to provide a variety of dance classes. This is accomplished by offering dance classes taught by faculty and students. BDA (along with the Dance Class) also provides performance experience to all by producing a showcase at the end of the school year. Members of BDA explore different styles of dance each meeting (hip-hop, jazz, ballet, contemporary, Latin dance, swing, tap, afrobeat, step, zumba, exc.) and are able to choreograph dances for the BDA showcase.

Bobcat Surf Club

A surf and stand up paddleboard specific club. This club will benefit members and community members in different ways. For the members we will focus on weather forecasting, specifically how to use available resources to predict when optimal conditions for surfing and or paddleboarding will arrive. Surfing and Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) offers a great opportunity for members to enhance their physical fitness routine. The club will benefit the local community by performing periodic beach cleanups. The Paddle Club will focus on ocean safety and practice good ocean stewardship. It will also learn about the history of surfing, discuss various techniques used in surfing/paddleboarding, and provide a safe space for Bobcats with a common interest or passion to meet.

This club will give students an opportunity to earn community service hours by working with the Boca Helping Hands non profit organization. The organization works to provide food, job training, access to healthcare and financial assistance to help individuals and families improve their quality of life.

Brazilian Club

Students will share their knowledge about Brazilian culture throughout music, books, and personal experience. Students will share their experience in a new country and will help new Brazilian students at school with the language and information about high school. The club aims to promote cultural events at school to promote Brazilian culture.

Chick-fil-A Leader Academy is a national high school leadership program focused on IMPACT THROUGH ACTION. In partnership with Chick-fil-A Inc., Chick-fil-A Leader Academy brings a fresh approach to leadership and empowers young people to make a
positive difference. Students must be selected each year through an application process.

This club will be a community service volunteers club, it will be a hub for organizing and assigning community service tasks. Hope for Kids

Our club will be dedicated to brightening the lives of sick and underprivileged children. We will do this by holding meetings and toy/gift drives. To ensure high school participation, we would offer service hours for wrapping toys/gifts for the drive and for attending the meetings after school. In these meetings, we will discuss upcoming events or projects, as well as creating cards to hand out at children’s hospitals/centers. We also plan on having different holiday-themed events to assist every kid in having a good holiday experience.

The National English Honor Society (NEHS), founded and sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, is the only international organization exclusively for secondary students and faculty who, in the field of English, merit special note for past and current accomplishments. Individual secondary schools are invited to petition for a local chapter, through which individuals may be inducted into Society membership. Immediate benefits of affiliation include academic recognition, scholarship and award eligibility, and opportunities for networking with others who share enthusiasm for, and accomplishment in, the language arts.

National Honor Society (NHS)

The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization for high schoolers that promotes leadership, service, character, and scholarship. There are over one million students participating in NHS activities today, in all 50 states and territories of the United States. To become a National Honor Society member, you must apply in our Google Classroom (Code kskkrn5)

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is eligible to apply for membership into the National Honor Society. To be admitted, students must show academic commitment, leadership experience, and good character.

The purpose of the National Honor Society is to elevate students’ and schools’ academics, leadership, and community engagement. NHS benefits students, communities, and colleges. Colleges have a way of seeing the academic and service commitment of an applicant through his or her membership.

This club works with no-kill shelters and other animal welfare organizations to fund, support and bring awareness about homeless and endangered animals. We work to advance animal welfare, safety, socialization, and to support local shelters by coordinating community service outreach, fundraisers and other events. Members collect items and funds to be donated to shelters and organizations in need.

Project Men is a mentorship program to help young kings reach their full potential mentally, academically, and of course emotionally. By doing so, a lot of information or links about scholarships, internships, community service hours, and mental health services are offered to the group members. We think it is an important to empathize and support each other as it's always time to build and achieve. Project Men is ready to connect and protect the brotherhood.

Psych Club

Social club with a flair for Psychology. We try to bring a guest speaker each year to talk about college/career options. We also ran an experiment, collected data, and analyzed our findings. We do a fall holiday party and club building activities throughout the year.

All are welcome to join, no GPA requirements or fees. Community service hours can be earned through our club as well.

Rotary Interact Club

Take action, build international understanding, and make new friends around the world.

Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Interact clubs organize at least two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Rotary club sponsors mentor and guide Interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills.

SECME (Science Engineering Communications Mathematics Enrichment)

Students participate in STEM activities such as building mousetrap cars, water bottle rockets, bridges and generators. Students may also compete in Brain Bowl trivia, on-the-spot build challenges, and still other competitions involve the Arts. Students compete in essay writing as well as the SECME school banner contest. Students compete at the District Olympiad and winning entries move on to the SECME National Competition Finals.

The Sports Fanatics Club is designed to create a community for students who are passionate about sports and want to engage in meaningful discussions about current events in the sports world. The club will meet twice a month on Wednesdays during Gold Lunch, allowing students to connect over their shared interests. The club will serve as a platform for students to discuss recent developments in various sports, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the sports industry.

Mr. Moncilovich will offer presentations on career paths within the sports industry, such as refereeing and sports business management, providing students with valuable insights into potential future careers. Through discussions and presentations, students will enhance their ability to analyze sports events, statistics, and industry trends, building critical thinking skills that are valuable both academically and professionally.

The Sports Fanatics Club aims to be a positive addition to the school’s extracurricular offerings, promoting both social interaction and academic exploration of the sports industry. We believe this club will not only enhance students’ school experience but also open doors to potential career opportunities in the sports world.

This club will encompass a number if different things. One of the main benefits will be the use of the Boca High School pool to help improve skills in the water. Also, learning more about underwater exploration, different marine animals in our local waters, and ocean conservation.

Water Sports Club

The Water Sports Club will serve Boca High as a place for any students who are interested in water based sports (wake boarding, water skiing, skimboarding) to interact and bond over their shared interests. Our meetings in the class will allow beginners and newcomers to learn the essentials in form, technique, and water safety for a variety of water based sports/activities from their more experiences peers. Our meetings outside of the classroom will see students trying something like wakeboarding for the first time or helping others learn how to water ski at places like "Ski Rixen" or "Shark Park 561."
